Cherry Tree with few fruits

I have a cherry tree in my backyard. The tree has plenty of small white flowers in spring but only produce a few fruits (about 10-15) in summer. This was the case last year too. I am not sure the type of cherry tree I have, the fruits are sweet and yellowish-red. Any suggestions on how to improve the yield?
