    Hi,
my car is chugging the last week. This became evident whilst increasing speed in 2nd and 3rd gear.. The frequency of this has increased since and now it needs to be revved when taking off in 1st...
any ideas of what the problem might be?
gona get the mechanic to look at it when he is free..

It sounds like it could be a large number of things to me.

Duff spark plug, fuel issue, or an ignition coil to name but a few

I don't think it sounds like a cracked pipe letting air in.

What type of car, model and mileage is it. Have you serviced it properly?

I don't think its anything too serious.

A good service, new plugs and leads and it should be ok but as said earlier it could be a number of things. Let me know how it goes

it was the sensor-sticking...needed a clean and some freeing oil...fixed in 10 mins...
