When using the formula to calculate ph, can anyone tell me what specific buttons to press when using the formula? I'm using a sharp el-w531 calculator (the black one). Can anyone help please?

    -log is all you need.

    -log is all you need.

Sound, thanks for that, I was under the impression you have to have exp10 after it.

Just -log? Is that the same as -logbase10? That's what I do...

-log implies -log to the base ten.

For example, on your page you will write -log10(0.000001) = whatever. (The 10 should be subscript)

But on your calculator use -log(0.000001) = whatever.
