What gearbox are you using? JG tend to use 7mm bushings/bearings

While your here does a new cylinder head make much of a performance difference?
    Likewise for a tapper plate?

    Thanks I'm still learning!

Nope and nope! If you have a air leak from the cylinder head use liquid gasket to seal it.

Check your air nozzle seals nicely with the cylinder head, this is a common place for a leak and you'll often find high end rifles like G&P etc have a tiny 0-ring installed inside the nozzle to give it a better seal on the cylinder head.

For the cylinder head itself all ya need is some plumbers PTFE tape, usually only takes a wingle wrap and then trim the excess with a craft knife. clean all the goo and grease from the cylinder and piston aswell, then just give it a squirt of silicon oil instead. your air seal will me 100 times better. :)
