    Hey all

We're recording an EP ourselves at the moment. Old demos here -
    www.myspace.com/thecrayonset

Our equipment is good, we know how we want it to sound and arranged but we'd like to get someone at the mixing stage to hopefully add a little magic

We're in Dublin / Wicklow - not that it couldn't be someone abroad.
    Genre-wise - we're indie / pop / folk

Is there anyone you'd recommend?? and why??
    Ideally someone who:
    - has a decent track record and good outboard gear
    - doesn't want to be the producer (i.e. someone who will take what we have and "make it better"..)
    - any idea of their rates?
    - who do the Bell x1s ones / Villagers of this world use?

Links to songs they've mixed would be great.

While we're at it again any recommmendations on who to use for mastering too??

    Any non-biased recommendations really appreciated

    Cheers

    Rocky

Hey - We used Richard Dowling in WAV Mastering in Limerick to master our album

He has quite a broad CV to be honest from boyband stuff like Westlife to bands like Suede & Interpol. I think that he could have mastered that Villagers Hollow Kind Ep last year as well but I'm open to correction on that one

    Hope that this helps

Id highly recommend Marc Carolan of suite studios myspace.com/marccarolan and would also higly recommend Martin Quinn in JAM studios in Kells http://www.jamstudios.org/. If its mastering you want you cant beat Fergal Davis Suite studios as well.. All of these guys cvs are amazing and have had the pleasure of working with them.

Steve is a very taleneted producer/engineer/musician and is an absolute pleasure to deal too.

I recorded recorded part of album, mixed and mastered everything with him late last year.
