I was looking on camskill.co.uk and, to be honest, there is a little bit too much choice for me....

    I need to get 2, possibly 4 - 225/55 R16

I do average mileage and I plan to trade-in/sell the car at the end of the year, but I don't want to put shoite on it either.

What would be the best brand to go with?

    Thanks

What sort of car is it?

How would you drive? Aggro or passive? If you drive faster I would say you would need better tyres.

How much are you willing to spend? How long do you want the tyres to last for? Bear in mind that there is pretty much a perfect negative relationship between grip and lifespan.

Any name brand. I have a preference usually for Goodyear.

    Thanks guys -
I guess that I will go with one of the brands.

These are for a 520i and I am not really an agressive driver

I've always liked Vredestein tyres. I find the have great wet weather grip.

    +1

They are a very good but underrated brand.

Agree, I have sportrac 3 fitted, great in rain

Vreds seem to hugely depend on the car, with the exception of T-trac, which are not great, in my own experience and the experience of others I know. I had Sportrac 3s which I didn't find great either.

goodyear eagle f1's. Easily one of the best tyres out.

There's no brand that's great across the board. Best thing to do is to find a 5 series forum somewhere and find what most people seem to think is the best for your model.
