hey just finished second year and have a few questions in regard to doing your masters and about your qca!

    1. what qca do you need to obtain in order to apply for a masters?

    2. can you do your masters in anything, even if its unrelated to your course?

    3. what is regarded as a good qca and an average qca?

    4. i've heard that because coop doesnt affect your qca, so 2nd semester in 3rd year, your qca counts for two semesters i.e it is doubled in value. is that true?

would really appreciate answers! thanks :)

    1) 2.2 is the minimum QCA you need, in order to be considered for a Masters.

    2) Generally, yes. I imagine highly specialised Masters would have certain academic requirements (like Engineering).

    3) The mid to high 2s are average, I believe. Anything above 3 is good.

    4) Yes, the non-Coop semester is double-weighted, as are both semesters of 4th year. FYPs double-double weighted, so they are worth four times any second year module.
