I was pulled over for speeding back in mid April. It was about 7.30am on a Saturday morning. The road was empty so I opened her up a bit on a dual carrage way. There was a section marked at 50km/h due to construction, I didn't slow down (No workers around).
A couple of miles up the road I saw the Garda car with flashing blue lights in the rearview mirror. Pulled in, he showed me the radar gun, I was clocked doing 122km/h in the 50 zone:eek::eek:. Any way I was appologetic and gave my details. He asked for my Licence and i didn't have it (I was driving the wifes car the day before and had left my licence in there) I wasn't asked to produce at station. Asked me was I drinking last night? I hadn't so wasn't worried about been breathalised, but wasn't. He then said "I know your car is well able for the speed but please slow down a tad, you'll be getting a fixed penalty notice in the post and 2 penalty points." It will be 10 weeks next weekend since I was pulled over and i still have not received the fine/points.

    So to summarise:
Doing 122 in a 50 zone (albeit temp limit) normally 100km/h
No Licence with me - Not asked to produce
Was not breathalised - even thought early on a Saturday morning.
Nearly 10 weeks still no fine received.

Is it possable he stil hasn't processed this? Even after ten weeks am I still likely to receive the notice? (I hold my hand up that I was speeding and have no problem paying fine and getting points).

Should I sit tight or contact the garda station to see what the story is?

Took a few months for my points & fine to come through too. He likely didn't care about the licence - you'll just get the points & fine - likely in the next few weeks.

I think they have up to 6 months to process it.

I was stopped for speeding 3 times and NEVER had my license with me. Well I told him that. :D

Always got told to go on my way and slow down. :D

I wasnt way over the limits by the way. Stopped for doing 68mph on the N25 out of Cork(back when MPH were about). The same road is NOW 75mph so the road could easily handle it.
