Just a quick query regarding the NCT. I booked in early April and received letter onf confirmation on 20th April to state that my NCT date was 25th June. If indeed it is true that you are entitled a free NCT how do I go about this. Do I just bring it up at the centre or do I have to organise it some other way?

Who said you are entitled to a free NCT?

Maybe I'm wrong in saying I'm 'entitled' to a free one but it does say on their Customer Charter that if you are waiting longer than four weeks you should get a free test. Or have a read it wrongly?

According to below link you must either write or email the customer service department once your wait has been 4 or more weeks,

You may not be entitled to a refund if you accept the date given....??

Ah fair enough I'm not going to be that put out if I have to pay or not. However I'm a bit confused about accepting the date they gave me part. I did ask was there anything sooner and they said no so I felt I had to accept it. Its all very vague.

Ring them and ask them specifically about it being free if you don't get the test date within 4 weeks. Then tell them that you are available for cancellations. That's what my wife did, and she got a test date within 10 days.
