When you play in team games in MW2 (or any COD game), what do you do?
Do you follow your team-mates or do you go and do your own thing?
Do you do the same if you're in a party with friends?
Ever make call-outs when not with a party?

I must admit to usually doing my own thing. On the original maps I generally have my own strategies and opening moves, most of which involve me being with no more than two team-mates (generally with 2 on Wasteland and Afghan, 1 on most other maps).

Only played in parties a few times (once with some of the guys on here, my mic wasn't great though so apologies about that lads and once with lads from Planet Rugby, alas it was FFA and I'm a MTDM man usually) so not really up on call-outs and such.

It varies, i rarely plan FFA so I may back up a team mate if he's going into a hot spot but at any point if i think he's got it covered i may go off by myself and could back up someone else.

Depends on the map really, most of the time i go off on my own, if the action is going on in one part of the map I'll get into it with the team. I do shoot down air support and UAVs all the time though,I'm nice that way :D

Ditto, once I hear air support coming in I drop a semtex and change to stinger class. Very satisfying. Was in a game on bailout last night where I shot down 4 harriers, a pavelow and a chopper gunner. The chopper was the only one that got any kills because I was super quick in taking out each killstreak :D

I had an earful after the game from the guy who had called in said air support :p

Love shooting down UAVs and counter UAVs with my rifle

I usually play TDM/MTDM or FFA, don't really like the other game modes too much. Much prefer playing in a party, often use call outs with teammates to help each other out. It really depends on the map whether I go solo or hang out with team-mates. Often depends how big the map is and where I get respawned to. I always try to take out hostile air support after 1 death, silly to get killed more than once.

My privacy settings for voice are set to private, so I can't communicate with anyone who I'm not friends with... therefore couldn't make or hear call outs when not in a party anyway.

I go off on my own and have learned this the hard way. The amount of times i'm shot by the opponent and i view the killcam only to see one of MY teammates standing beside the guy who shot me. Like wtf?

People don't understand the meaning of team playing. I normally finish in the top of every team i'm on with the closest behind me with a measly 500 points less. Maybe i'm just unlucky to get paired with the ****ebags who havn't a clue how to play the game.

I've started using OMA on my all purpose class, I usually use Scavenger but OMA pro is just as good as it takes 2 seconds to change class so if you can find a quiet spot its easy to change quickly, plus you can do it while sprinting so if you know you're safe its dead handy to replenish your loadout. my anti-air class has stingers so I usually either kill myself or just see how far I can get before I change back to my all purpose. I love OMA, used to haet it because noobs and campers ruin it but its actually brilliant when used properly, I have it on 3 classes now so can switch between run and gun, sniper and heavy lmg mode at the drop of a hat depending on whats going on in the match, really handy.

LOL I seriously agree there, happens a lot more than it should I find, killcam and you actually see your team mate tracking the guy and turning to him for a good 2 seconds before he kills me!!! queue me shouting at the tv "WTF are ya doing LOOKIN at him you t*t" rofl

I have major trust issues when I'm playing with random people. Generally try to get a feel for whether they're team players or not before deciding to plant a bomb etc.

I play Demolition mainly, and the amount of times I'd plant a bomb, only to have my team mates on the other side of the map trying to get kills is ridiculous. I CAN'T PROTECT THE BOMBSITE ON MY OWN LADS.

When I'm playing with friends, we play team tactical a lot, the four of us. I'd make callouts then to the lads, and have a team strategy. Even as simple as "You an me protect B, the other 2 protect A." Even just being organised like that gives you a huge advantage over the other team.

Thats IW's fault, this must be the first game ever that rewards being a selfish, crappy player. It really annoys me that points in TDM are based on kills and not how good of a team player you are, fair enough you get points for shooting down harriers and that but then you finish a game with a low k/d ratio and everyone assumes you're a crap player( I was given out to for "letting down the team" one night by a guy who had 20 odd kills when I had only 6, but I shot down EVERY uav the other team got up, 4 harriers and 2 pavelows, yet I let down the team, ffs like) I was playing domination the other night and captured all 3 points on my own, by the end of the game I had 8 kills and 13 deaths but was over 1000 points ahead of the rest of the team as I was capturing and defending the points while they were off getting kills, there was a bunch of times I went prone on the flag area to capture it and had 2-3 other teammates just run past me and leave it to myself, do people not realise the more people at a flag the quicker its captured? morons...

My main tactic revolves around trying not to die to often, and hopefully get a few kills along the way. I don't rely on team-mates too much to have my back unless I'm playing with a RL friend, as was said before, the times you see a killcam with your "team-mate" standing beside the guy that just killed you is ridiculous.

On tdm i dont bother much about tactics , its usually more common sense in that mode , however domination , i can be a mouthy kunt ,it annoys me when your losing a game and one of you team is lying balls down near the enemy flag looking for a few kills because he is worried about his k/d.

I play domination and CTF a bit too, in CTF I always escort the carrier if I'm near, both to provide a target for the enemy and also to lay down covering fire and if he gets shot there's someone near to pick up the flag.

Domination again I have no problem covering someone if they are capturing a control point, but as said above as with other team based games lads just run around the far side of the map trying to get kills

I've mentioned this before but i have still yet to see anyone with a BRDS tag :)

We only usually use them during boards game nights, I dont use a clan tag most times but do use BRDS so we get onto the right teams during games, they can be a great laugh :)

I mainly play S&D and for most maps I have my own plans and tactics for Offence and Defence. If I ever get my hand on some way of recording games I would consider putting up each tactic.

Have 7 custom classes unlocked, 5 are for S&D. These five all have SitRep so I am always giving callouts of enemy claymores, C4, martyrdom 'nades and when I hear enemy activity. When playing defence I hold choke points (camping), so I think it's great that I can inform my team of dangers that they are coming up to, even though I am sitting back. I also have some nasty claymore and C4 locations that work the majority of the time.
Mind you I tend not to do anything stupid, I hate seeing three of my team die trying to get that one last kill from the guy camping up in the building by the offence spawn in Skidrow. I do not understand that people ignore the whole "Don't bother with him, he has to come out or he loses" I broadcast every bloody time.

When playing offence, I tend to rush and clear some choke points early (before they get comfy) and make a corresponding call out. Then I secure an area around a bomb site and call to the bomb carrier to get his ass over here. (Drives me made when the carrier decides to camp back at our spawn, expecting kills to come to him).
When the bomb has been planted, I usually lay down a claymore over or in it, though I have started putting down a TI on it for fun :) (very useful if you can get a team mate to lay down a claymore by it too :D ). Then i hold the area as long as I can.
If the bomb is down or if the carrier is a goon, I play it by ear.

For TDM, I play by my offence S&D tactics for a bit and then just adapt to my team's actions, take down a lot of air support when I can (tend to be the only one), follow groups and protect them and so on. If I see someone at a laptop, I protect them. Same with Domination, though I tend to be the only one capturing the flags. Now and again I might use a ghost class and spawn kill the enemy team.

I enjoy team tac. I tend to only use three classes here. In Domination, Sabotage and Demolition I have a class with Marathon/Stopping Power and a Blast-shield. Team Tac, if the enemy team are bad losers, they will tube the **** out of you, especially if you are defusing the bomb, so that BShield has saved my life and the game a lot of times.
For capture the flag I use either the above class for same reason and fast points, or I use my Riot Shield and C4 class. Said class is great for both offence and defence. Having the shield on your back makes up for the slow movement.
All other modes, I use my standard class, or whatever seems best.
The most important thing in TeamTac is communication and that is why I usually only play with friends.

Some good replies there, esp. CORaven!

Am maxing out the perks and mastering guns at the moment so was running with Bling and LMGs and, due to the lack of claymore protection, I find myself running and gunning a bit more and thus following team-mates rather than doing my own thing. Reckon I'm doing slightly worse than normal, still positive but closer to parity than when doing my own thing with specific guns for specific maps.

    mostly play team death match

i have my own way of doing things like ill only run a certain way and avoid such areas... sometimes i decide to do something different if it works
when i get my harrier i normally camp till i get the chopper gunner
