I own a Monaco Vintage and I just noticed this evening that the strap is about to fail. It's the black reptile skin one with orange stitching.
Does anyone have any tips for buying a relacement? I have no problem with buying online but it needs to be swift delivery.
Also high quality non-tag strap makers are not ruled out, however I do want the same style of strap.

    Cheers

I am awaiting a quote from Tag. However I really do like some of the straps the Parisien company is offering. I could easily end up doing something stupid and ordering 3 straps (1 original, 1 Tag rubber strap for holidays, and a special one from ABP).
The special edition python skin strap on the Monaco 24 Concept strikes me as amazing. I would love to see it in the flesh.

Make sure you're sitting down when you get that quote :D It's amazing what watch companies charge for a strip of leather.

Yeah. The strap is 300GBP. The rubber one is 110GBP and I havent dared get an ABP quote yet!
www.thewatchgallery.co.uk is who quoted me. I'll ring Tag directly in their london store shortly.

I'll replace the original and then look into the convenient and fancy ones later.
I presume 300 isnt too bad? I expected around 250GBP to be honest.

    I rang Tag. It's 300 alright.

Only you can decide if it's worth £300 to have the Tag Heuer logo stamped on the underside of the strap. If it were me, I'd buy a nice Hirsch strap for around €40 and fit the Tag buckle to it.

Well normally the answer would be no. Thats why I'll be looking to use a rubber strap for my holidays and wet weather etc. in future.

However this particular strap was a feature that drew me to the watch in the first place. It's part of its character. I couldnt get another strap if I wanted to. It would cheapen the experience. It'd feel like I was wearing a fake.

I know Tag arent particularly regarded amongst watch enthusiasts but I really do love this one.

surely you can get a strap that looks the very same i.e. same type of leather with orange stitching that will fit whatever buckle you are using?

often after market leather straps are higher quality than oem ones anyway
