First time poster here so hello all.
While playing music this evening i went to turn on a different output from the amp (yamaha ax397), the amp suddenly turned off. On investigation two speaker wires were touching. (i'm an idiot i know) so quick flick through manual troubleshooting section says check impedance setting is correct (it is) then check speaker wires aren't touching (they were but aren't now) but now when i turn it on the volume is incredibly low. presumably i've blown a fuse or something.

any suggestions on what i can do to diagnose the problem or even a link to something would be great.

    Many thanks

It sounds like you may have fried one or more of the output transistors on the channel where the wires were touching. Some amps have protection fuses, but the fact you can still hear something would argue against your amp being protected in this way.

I would think you might need to get a technician to check it out.
