The only real competitive montage for MW2

Taken from the vid's description:This Dualtage contains 100% Decerto/MLG competitive footage, against the best players the EU has to offer. The clips from Sowerz were mostly recorded over a 3-4 months period, and the clips from me (LukeJS) over a total of 2 weeks. All footage is from 4v4 tournament matches or scrims.

Basically this isn't a montage from public games but actual matches that have money at stake. Some of you that are familiar with the PC scene will recognize some familiar tags:SK,dignitas, epsilon etc. (the recorders are actually part of the infused org).

The reason I'm posting this in a dedicated thread is because I thought that some people on here needed to see what a GOOD MW2 player is :P

If you have any questions about the EU competitive scene feel free to ask.

TBH the gameplay was nothing special. The editing was epic though

To be fair it says this is based on footage taken over 3-4 months. FFS if I captured footage of all my games over the last 3-4 months and I could edit like that then I'd have very similar montage. Montages are shít and its very easy to pick footage that makes a player look good.

If he posted some full games you'd probably see a much fuller story that could lead to a totally different story.

I was in total agreement, when all the clip sections ended after one mag??? wtf, I'm sure in every game all of us had had at least one of those "zone" moments UNTIL the part in highrise and the guy is using the famas on the helipad (starts @ 4:08).... now that was serious skill IMO. Strike that, seen tat he too just clears one mag, thought he went through a few.

What you all don't seem to understand is that these games were for MONEY against some of the top players in europe. If you think"pffft,I could do that easy" then think of playing against 4 of yourself, when money's on the line.Every kill counts in these matches,it's 4v4 NOT 6v6 and there's always a respawn delay.

@Kev_Ps3,I was wrong in saying the only competitive tage for mw2,theres a few others,JaCk b's,wonder's and a few others here and there but this is definitely the best.I'm also sorry that this is a re-post.

How do you know they were for money? Says in his description that 'All footage is from 4v4 tournament matches or scrims'. Scrims (practice matches) dont involve money and not all tournament prizes are for money.

Really nice, much prefer that to the ****ty montages of people owning noobs in public games.

Ha you actually know something, quite a change from boards:rolleyes:.I'm trying to help put it in perspective for some people, not ALL of it was for money but he's still playing against some of the EU's top players when they are all trying their hardest to win, scrims are much more difficult to play in when compared to publics.

I know where your coming form mate, seems like at times on boards that if you post a thread that doesnt seem to "live up" to certain regulars standards it gets slated when in reality all your trying to do is contribute.
Perhaps we all need to realise this is a PUBLIC forum so everyone can post what they want as long as its within the charter rules, if its not good it'll die if you've nothing good to say then dont.

Cheers for contributing , I enjoyed the vid.

The Frag cup was all for money and there was a range of game team tactic's even Riot shield was used by some players. Generally any intro that lasts longer that 10-15 seconds I get the feeling that there's not much in the video. Why not show some gameplay instead of these highly edited clips, maybe awesome after the game came out last November but now there just boring.

Thanks man,I expected these responses anyway. It just takes a little explanation on my behalf to convey the background of the video.

The frag cup was a joke,it was a one-off tourney for americans, not for EU players.Besides do you honestly think that riot shields/noob tubes really show off how good you are?The rules that they're(the guys in the vid) playing are 4v4 decerto rules, arguably the most competitive there are:

Im the leader of the mw2 ps3 team for Skitlite-Gaming, a professional gaming org. We arnt a very top team but came 9th in the ConsoleGaming Spring ladder. There are a few boards members in the team so there are a few here that know about competitive gaming.

some harsh stuff banned there, OMA is banned but Scavenger isnt? its essentially the same thing, i know you'd have to move around to replenish with Scavenger but with the level of the guys playing I'd say campers dont last long in those games. Also LMGs banned? why? they're no more powerful than AR's most of the time, especially with stopping power. The Aug is almost the same as having an AR just with a bigger mag size, and its not even that big.

Be fun to try a boards night with some of these rules, no killstreaks etc.

True, I could do up a montage of dazzling throwing knife kills but out of context they're just standard ones.

I really do, they're so satisfying to bury one in a guy whos running, stationary targets are fun as you know they'll be raging when they see their killcam, and i've gotten a few completely random hoof it and see what happens ones, used one to detonate a guys claymore and kill him once, that was a laugh :D

Even better when bury one in a guy hiding behind a riot shield :)

Happened myself many a time:D, I got my first ricochet kill the other night, met a shielder on the stairs in the main building on Sub Base, aimed at the wall beside him and it bounced off and hit him behind the shield, I really need to start recording this stuff lol

Anyone can capture footage over 3 months , save their highlights and be called "A good player". Show us a full game then you can be judged.

In anything that we want to go,
from just a beginner to a pro
    You need a montage:P

You can tell just by looking at his aim that hes a good player, but yeah, its true that montages don't give a true picture of some1's skill.

Besides, theres no such thing as a pro MW2 player, as any pro cod player is still playing MW1.

On PC thats true yeah, nobody plays mw2 but we're talking about console here.Although the EU's top players ARE currently playing mw1 as theres an upcoming LAN for CoD4 soon. However they'll be moving back to mw2 around august time.

    Sorry for double post guize.

Are you talking about console or pc when you say they'll be moving to mw2 in august ?

MW2 is diabolical for competitive play and will never be a good game competitively, im not too interested in the console side of things as consoles are fairly **** for fps games, but the whole no dedicated server side to things sort of ****ed mw2 up.

Oops you should have told that to dopedgoat and tcm (i think), who were the first eu team to win at an event in the States , 10k money with 4k electronic stuff.:)

    He is talking about console.

Probably the only mw2 event in the states :D. Honestly i have no idea about the console scene. I know any big US team that has ever come to an EU lan (At least the last year or so) has been stomped by EU teams.

I know there was a bunch of events for mw2 when it was first released, but that was only because they were sponsored directly by activision, after a few months they stopped any sponsored lans and MW1 stayed top.

Yep exactly, was a good day for the EU,Yanks had been giving us stick about being **** at cod but then TCM did that for us :)

Kinda, theres been 1 big lan for mw2 and another few lans here and there. The major European lan that's coming up is ECL(gonna make a post about that on here aswell, try and get a few teams to attend). It was originally Tugsy organizing it(off h3f) but now it's loco and mellow(from dig and TI respectively). That's where CoD4 is being played, although it's only because of the 18+ age-rating(we don't have dedi servers on console unfortunately). However, all CoD lans on console will be mw2 after that(which is a shame as it's quite a **** game). It also got dropped from MLG which is a HUGE blow for us but whatever, the US community is going to start organizing their lans from now on.
