m60 box mag problems

hey guys my mate has an m60 problem, i'm not really sure what it is but the box mag wont feed for some reason. i'v heard they are prone to acting up and i was hoping ye would know what the most popular problems are and how to fix them or if it's possible to get a new mag.

Really, don't want to be smart but did he check the switch underneath the box? There's a selector there which switches between continuous feed, sound operated and off. It can be prone to switching to off during a game, as I found out to my cost one day!:rolleyes:

Isint that the m249 box mag ?
I always tought the m60 box mag was in a cover ?

Yeah, it's in a canvas cover but the selector switch is on the base of the box and still gets snagged as most people, myself included, tend to rest the box mag against themselves when carrying the gun.

So on the base of the mag theres a kind of slot in the cover which allows you to change the switch on the base of the actual mag ?

Unfortunately not, you'd have to lift out the box and flick the selector and then pop it back in. No big deal but can be annoying when you're in the middle of a game
