Desktop wont fill moniter screen

    Hey im just looking for a bit of help. today i connected my laptop to my tv using a vga cable, this was the first time ive done this but now since ive been using my laptop the desktop screen wont fill the full moniter. i have 2 black lines down either side of the screen. Just wondering could anyone shed some light on what the problem is? thanks

    Try right clicking on the desktop & go down to "screen resolution", and change it to the recomended resolution
