Sickening self promotional stuff.. I really thought Ronan would have had more respect for Gately than to use his death to promote their album..

They videod the "argument" they had about going to Stephen's memorial mass and used this as material for the documentary ... I mean who brings a video camera to a discussion about a memorial mass???

    Am I being too cynical?

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, Stephen obviously genuinely meant a lot to each of them, but I can't help thinking this is a commercial presentation.

They have been milking it since he died

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭DEVEREUX

Totally agree, they have no shame.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,242 ✭✭✭mariaf24

Quite sad really how they have milked this. You don't see his family all over the media talking about Steo. I might believe it if they didn't plug the album during the same interviews. For shame lads.

it's just complete self-publicisation. Fine if it was just a boyzone documentary. But to say this is about "Steo" is just bull.

    Hey!!!!!

Can we see Francine here with all the dancers etc?!!!!!!

Bet you she's been well edited out!!!!!

Was Ro's tart and bit on the side edited out?

His wife looked like fish guts. His slut looks nicer. Good man Ro.

This "for Steo", that "for Steo".. three bags full "for Steo"...
I was only waiting for Ro to say that he rode Francine "for Steo"...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

Ive said it before and i'll say it again, let the chap rest in peace and stop making money from his death.. its sickening

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

Can I just say btw, that I'm not having a go at Stephen in any way by starting this thread.. He was probably the most talented, most grounded, and best singer of the lot of them. Seemed like a nice guy.

Have they something being released soon?

    That's exactly what it is.

They've been brought up in that atmosphere though. Walsh always instilled in them that the most important thing was making money. No doubt they were sad when Gately died, however, the fact they can't see anything wrong with cashing in on his death gives an insight into their personalities.

Gately would have done the exact same thing had he been in their position.

Funnily enough, yes. Yes they do.

An album that "Steo" was involved in and that they are releasing "for Steo""

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

They need to let go and move on and stop subjecting the public to such mind numbing rubbish.

Was asking because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but every one of them can **** right off. :)

I had to turn if off.

I've lost any respect I ever had for Boyzone. Milking anyones death is horrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,222 ✭✭✭✭walshb

This milking of Gately's death began right after the chap died. Them going to bring his body home, sleeping in the church and all that ****ing nonsense. I didn't buy any of it.
Pure mock grief to gain as much publicity as they could. Gately's own family didn't go to
Spain to bring the body home. Best thing that happened to this has been band was the death of Gately, sad, but true

I can't see how you are all so surprised, it's par for the course for that type of maufactured tripe.

I think Boyzone should have kept their silence for a year or so after Stephen's death. I had my doubts at the start but it's pretty obvious now that they are using it to promote their 'music' and such.
They look like pathetic middle aged men acting and dressing like men in their teens/20's. I watched the programme last night and it was hard to believe they were married MEN with children with the amount of BS sob shi*e they gave about loving the band and the brotherhood and the friendship. *PUKE*

Keating had no interest in a reunion...then after the career flopped considered it but the general consensus was nobody would be bothered going to see them. Then Take That did a successful comeback and suddenly the Boyzone one was back on the table. All that brotherhood stuff is nonsense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78 ✭✭Ammonite

I saw some of it, it was much as I expected. I have no doubt that they are grieving, but why are they doing this so publicly?

Like the bit where they were huddled in a group to say a prayer to Stephen, and the camera zoomed in and captured every moment.

Maybe this sort of public grief is normal to them since they are celebrities, I find it a bit odd TBH.

Hilarious stuff to be honest. 4 complete muppets milking Stephen Gatelys death. The constant refering to the "band", you're not a f-ing band, you're a group who sing other peoples songs.

Keith the teeth with his bug eyes and lack of acting ability. Lynch, good God what is it you actually do again ? and Mikey, ah poor Mikey with his daft nutty boys hat.
Still at least he gets a seat now.

As for Keating of the ever changing singing voice .... words fail me.

Those assclowns have been milking Gately's death since the moment the news broke of his passing.

Do you know what i found very interesting about this documentary, it was said by one of the fcuk wits that they "didnt do any press at the time of Steo's death so now they had to do it".......

I'm sorry but those fcukers were doing interviews and courting the press the second that poor bloke died - Statements in Majorca, speaking to RTE news, SKY News interview and numerous paper interviews - like does all that actually count for nothing in their fcuking pea sized over paid brains?

I actually don't mind Mikey and Shane, Keith is a bit of a dick but Ronan is a cultivating b*stard. He actually love(s) all this press and the fact that he's cashing in on it constantly says alot about him. Rubbing his hands with glee the second "Steo" died. That poor guy was the best out of them.

Also, remember when they were talking around the dinner table? I thought it was unbelievable how s*it, boring and frankly unintelligent their personalities actually are.

    Didn't watch it.
After the nauseating bull of staying all night with him in the church, bringing in and out their sleeping bags just for the cameras as if they thought they were gonna sleep there, the disingenuineous crap about how "Steo" wouldn't want to be on his own in a church (ye had left him on his own in a church for a whole week you muppets), all followed by the pain in the arse "performance" on the Late Late Show a few weeks later, well I'd just about had enough!

I felt sorry for them for the first few days. That's all it lasted for though. Cos they're just Dick heads!

just to be the voice of balance and cos I like the lads, the album came out months ago - but I am finding Ronan's sincerity about everything a bit hard to swallow given the current issues around him...........'the comfort blanket of my family'................

Yeah he made a lot of statements about them all "having other relationships outside of the band in their lives now.. (as opposed to when they were young and they were boyzone members 24/7)" .. I know he meant these in a certain context but I couldnt help but feel he was talking about his ho.. ;)

:(I think most of you are mean and full of ****.Boyzone in no way are cashing in on Steo and they have called him Steo from 1993. If you are a fan you would now that. The lads will never get over the loss of Stephen they have a very close bond and love for each other.Their world has changed for ever with the loss of their little bro. The pain and emptyiness is so real. Any true fan nows that.
As for Ronan he made a mistake we all have not fair to judge him you don't walk in his shoes.Funny that God will forgive put some people won't.
Boyzone do write alot of their songs and Keith plays drums,Mikey piano, guitar,Ronan piano, guitar. And every member sings on the songs. Ro and Steo did most of the lead parts. With new album Brothers each member has step up and sing more on the songs.
Staying with Steo the last night was amazing it was the last night the 5 of them will be together for awhile. The whole funeral was Beautiful and so emotional.Steo is at peace now forever young and never forgotten we will miss you we have lost a Man,Friend,Bro,Husband and Hero we will really miss you now have found Peace Perfect Peace.
