Projector starts up fine but then the image begins to flicker between normal and a bluish/greenish tone, after several minutes the colour goes completely and I'm left with a flickering black and white image.
Question is, could this be a fault with the unit itself or the lamp?
    Grateful for any help/advice

Don't think this is a lamp problem. Sounds more like a color wheel problem. Is your projector still under warranty?

No unfortunately not. Any idea where I might get repaired or would it be worth repairing?
    Thanks

From your description, I would suspect this may be an expensive repair.

The projector is only a SVGA (800x600) resolution so maybe an upgrade might be the better solution. You should look for something with a 3 year warranty. You will also get a new lamp with 3000-4000hrs usage so this is a positive.

My suggestion is the Vivitek D510. This is one of the only SVGA (800x600) resolutions entry level projectors on the market with a HDMI connection and 3 year warranty, 4000hr lamp and its 3D ready! Good entry level projector from gaming and movies. Available from TRTV in Wicklow.

Otherwise there is loads of SVGA models available just watch the warranty, sometimes the UK specified waranties are not supported in Ireland.
