    Hi

I never ticked the box for W on my learner permit application but when I pass my test and am applying for a full licence, can i get it put on then?

My theory test cert is still valid if that makes a difference.

You don't get the W mark on your LP iirc?

Yes, the B licence test enables you to drive B and W but no longer M (since 2006) or EB.

I got the B and W on my learner permit, and I only ticked the B box. You are entitled to the W on a learner permit as well. But if you already have the permit you may have to pay another €15 to get the W on it as well. Its descretionary to the tax/license office. I used to drive a moped so when i got license i was grand, then i got the B added on to it i said to them "well since i have already done the M license i should be ale to get the A1 licence as well since i turned 17" (same test) they said not a bother and i ended up gettin the A1, B, M and the W all on the learner permit!

There no good to me now as i have the full license and its only B and W :(

May have changed in the past 2 years but i doubt it.

I've seen it on provisionals and learner permits in the past. At the moment I have no need for it but I don't want to not have it on my full licence in case it affects work in the future.

Assuming I was insured and a tractor was registered and taxed, could i drive it with just the B category on my permit?

I don't remember ticking any boxes, but sure, tis 2 years ago now since i got the LP :D

You should be able to go into your motor tax office and they'll fix it (add W catagory) free of charge.

If you're stopped and it's not on the license, though, you could be in trouble. It's free like, for the sake of it, just have it changed.
