Who makes this 'contract'/ budget 8-element VHF Band III Yagi aerial (see pictures, LAST picture is it assembled less the included clamp). No manufacturer detail in packaging (see-through bag) or on aerial itself. Listed as VHF Channel 5 to 12 aerial (European channels E5-E12, same band as Irish VHF channels D to J)

This thing about 15 euro from electrical wholesaler (Dwyers).

What is the rationale behind the daft connector box. ?
Why 3 entry holes? - see 2nd last picture (and none wide enough for usual co-ax! so you have to widen one)
If used for horizontal polarisation, the holes are on the bottom of the box, but if its used for vertical polarisation (Mullaghanish/Mt Leinster/Maghera TV Band 3 and all DAB radio) they are on the side. If the installer doesn't cover fully with self amalgamating tape well water gets straight in.
Maybe manufacturer wrongly thinks ALL Band 3 broadcasts are horizontal polarised?? (as with American TV broadcasting).

Could be OK if it can be used in attic, but outdoors!?

It looks like it had 2 extra holes for a coax loop as a balun and then they stuck in a PCB instead.

At least it HAS a balun!

I can't see it doing Ch5 and 6 if it's USA channel numbers?
European 5 .. 12 / Ireland D to J is all of band III, which is optimistic for a Yagi. I think the aerial will favour 1/2 the band (measure dipole to see)

A pair of them combined with a Y splitter (F type with hybrid, not cheapo resistor or just all shorted) might be nice UK DX DAB aerial this weather.
