Can anyone recommend a good counsellor in the Cavan town area or even the Monaghan town area? Someone who can deal with depression, self-esteem issues etc?

    Thank you :)

Best bet is talk to the local GP, they should be able to recommend someone.

They should be accredited wit IACP or BACP and be having regular supervision. Try whatclinic, naturaltherapyforall or under Cavan in the listings of the official iacp website

Daniel Fensom is a good therapist in cavan 0860656465. Either enquire through your GP or friends recommendation.

There is free counselling in Cavan for people who have suicidal ideation at SOSAD.

Unfortunately counselling is still UNREGULATED and a someone with a six week correspondance course can set up as a counsellor.
You wouldn't leave your car in foe servicing with an untrained mechanic !!
CHECK iacp.ie FOR A LIST OF ACCREDITED PROFESSIONALS.
Most have a sliding scale fee structure.
