    http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/victoriasquare/
click on the above link(its for apple store victoria sq.),then click on the''view my reservation'' link in the right corner, enter your details to view your reservation...mine says no current or previous reservations, even though I have reserved iphone 4...I'm wondering was it canceled?

    Anyone else?

I think that's just for reservations for Genuis bars, one on one shopping, etc, etc rather than a special 'once off' reservation for something like the iPhone. I wouldn't worry about it (not unless someone else can post a screenshot of an iPhone 4 reservation showing in there!!! )

I hope so! Is there anyway I can confirm that my reservation is still valid, without actually giving them a call?

I read on macrumours that some people in the U.S have been getting their reservations cancelled..despite them getting an initial email confirming the reservation. Apparently, they only found out it was cancelled when they 'signed in'(to what exactly, I'm not sure) to view their order..they didn't get an email or anything else to state it had been cancelled.

You heading up yourself on Thursday?

There's been a big screw up with the orders in the US caused by the AT&T ordering system. It has pushed the initial launch back to the middle of July.
Some people who ordered had the orders cancelled, others who didn't even order, had money taken from them.

It has pushed the initial launch back to the middle of July.

They are still releasing the phone on thursday the 24th. where you hear it was pushed back? if it was pushed back in the states you could bet your bottom dollar it would be pushed back everywhere thus being pushed back in the other launch countries.

to the OP if you look at the web address it's concierge.apple.com etc.etc. concierge is only used for bookings for events in an apple store so the likes of presentations.

take a look at the image below this is a reservation i made last year, and the page you linked to is just to search through these reservations.

Most tech news websites have been reporting it for a few days now. Apple had to apologise over the problems. UK site now says July 14.

yes, but that is for the next batch. you said the launch is delayed until the 14th of july which isn't true as apple have started to ship iPhone 4's to customers who ordered on the 15th of june.

People; if you have an email from Apple confirming your reservation for the 24th of June, you will be able to pick your iPhone up on the 24th of June, the launch date has not been pushed back! I wouldn't be surprised though if the Irish launch date got pushed into early August though that's a different issue.

The UK/US website is saying July 14th now because that is the earliest you will get an iPhone if you order one right now as they've completely sold out of all the initial stock. The initial June 24th stock of pre-orders was sold out in the first day from what I saw. There still should be limited stock in the stores for those without reservations if you turn up early enough though obviously no guarantees!

was half thinking of this option too, do you mind me asking how much the hotel cost?

As far as I know only Americans can see what products they have reserved in store.

There is no such option for the rest of us.

People are talking about staying in hotels. One lad is saying he might go to Belgium !

Just curious as to why you'd go to such lengths. Yes you like the phone etc but why the big expense to get it a few weeks early?

Just curious and defo not criticising. I'll be first up when its officially released here myself!

I have to agree with Johnny. I'm driving up to Belfast but it nicely coincides with having to be up there anyway. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way for a phone. I wouldn't stay in a hotel or fly to Belgium either. Its €600, there are way better ways to spend that sort of money without adding to it. Its only a phone. I can't wait to see their theft rocket or the Ad's on Adverts "iPhone 4 - €750" :D

On a side note, how much is AppleCare for the iPhone?

    Hi Denisor,

    to answer your questions:

    1. Yes, the iphone 4s being sold in the Belfast Apple store are sim free and unsubsidised.

    2. Micro sims for iphone are not available here yet, but there are plenty of online guides that show you how to cut a regular sim down to a micro sim. You can also buy an adapter online which reverts the micro sim back to a regular sim.

I've always wondered what was driving people to buy into the hype. People queueing for iPads were applauding customers coming out with one on launch day here in London. They were queueing for days, and the chap at the front was offered £500 for his place. These are just electronic devices, life doesn't improve considerably (or indeed at all) when you get these toys.

Maybe I don't understand, perhaps someone can explain the need to get them at 8am on launch day to me?

i was lucky enough to get my iPhone on release date last year here, although i went into my o2 store in dundalk and they had no 32gig left so i went to drogheda and got the last one there.

it then took my mate 2 months to get a 32gig.

i don't hold out much hope of getting a 32gig one on release here in the south, never mind a 16 gig, which i will skip, even if there is any left, i'm not gonna go for one.
i think this time round there is gonna be pretty big demand, cause alot of people i know off are going to get there first iPhone now, and vodafone i think will have a lot of new customers coming back to them from o2, i know i'm gonna be officially getting an iPhone off them this time round, cause for the past 4 months i've been running an iPhone on a sim only plan, this time i'm gonna be going onto the iPhone tarriff, thankfully now that i'm out of my dreaded damned o2 contract :D

Hum, so any of us gonna call to double check the reservation issue?
Mine too says 'No upcoming reservations'

    I'm scared :(

If you have the email confirmation, which you need anyway to collect the phone(s), then you are safe. If you don't, I would worry.

Worst case sceanrio is that you don't get one and waste an hour or so getting there and back. If your prepared to go up to get one, I suppose you have to accept the risk you won't get one.

I travel to the North quite a lot and was thinking about pre-ordering an iPhone 4 at the Apple store in Victoria sq. But, as everyone knows, it is impossible to tell when they will have them again and it is such a hassel getting into the city centre sometimes.

This morning I was checking out expansys.ie (based in France) and although their incl VAT prices for a SIM free iPhone 4 are quite expensive, if you are VAT registered (I am) or use your companies VAT number they will sell you stuff ex-VAT.

I just ordered 2 x iPhone 4's and they said I will have them in 13 days - far better than driving into Belfast, finding parking, getting stressed, ect.

And the ex-VAT prices compare well with Belfast where the prices are £499 and £599 (approx EUR 623 and EUR 749 at todays rate), expansys sell them for EUR 623 and EUR 744

Let's see if 13 days is realistic or not

Check this out also and sharkman is correct, can you clarify this Evergreen?

Maybe he is confusing it with the UK, can you even buy a product from the UK site and deliver to Ireland?

All the expansys sities are controlled by the same company in Europe (France I think), so even if go to expansys.ie or expansys.co.uk it ends up at the same place anyway. If you are registered for VAT, or use your companies VAT number, the you are entitled under European tax law to import into Ireland exclusive of VAT.

Pixmania Pro is the same, if you are registered for VAT you can import it at the ex VAT price - except they only have the 3GS for sale.
