In a rush so will flesh this out later.

Basically pugged my SD card in to girlfriends dads PC, computer did not recognise the card. Plugged into her laptop to show a load of garbled data. Plugged into Camera and showing no image???

    Ideas?

Install and run recuva to scan the card for recoverable data.
Make sure you untick the annoying Yahoo options during the install.

Cheers. I have used recuva previously and found it to be hit and miss. On the road for the next 5/6 hours so won't get a chance to try. If it doesn't work does anyone know of data recovery specialists in Cork/Munster-

Running a Recuva deep Scan now but is it any good for corrupted data?

According to the disk properties there is nearly 4GB of Data on the card so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Got 748 files back but I'm still missing hundreds more. Anyone know the next step after Recuva?

There's a paid for app called "Get data back" I seen get good results.

Phew, managed to get all 2,000+ photos back using both Recuva and the windows file recovery tool.

    Cheers for suggestions.

I found something called UFS Explorer to be really excellent.

It's not free, though... there are good free ones out there.

    Good luck!

I use a card reader, the first time I inserted an sd card, Norton advised scanning, which I did and lost my files. I have learned my lesson and don't scan sd cards or external drives either.
