We went on a great 'romantic' break to the Imperial in Cork this time last year. We got a great deal, it was midweek and all the meals were included. It's a four star hotel and is smack bang in the middle of the city centre- so no golf. There is a really beautiful spa there too.

I second the Castlemartyr. Stayed there for a wedding recently - pure luxury! :) Quite close to Garryvoe beach too for a romantic walk (weather permitting, of course!). ;)

Knightsbrook in Trim? I have stayed there numerous times (for work purposes) and the staff are lovely. It has a golf course and there is lots to do around...Hill of Tara, Newgrange etc

Brooklodge, Aughrim in Wicklow is usually good, they can have great offers on their website sometimes, ask to be in the main building though. They have a brewery there and a little village with a foodstore, an italian restaurant and Irelands only fully organic restaurant, spa is nice too. Think there is golf there too, but not sure.

I bought somebody a voucher was the spa in the Knightsbrook recently and they were bitterly disappointed with it..

Castle Durrow is lovely too, they do great all in deals and there is probably golf nearby.
