    Lads,

Rehearsing in a room 20ft x 10ft, drum kit in one end and bass, guitar & vocals near other end.

Keep getting feed back on mic's etc. Whats the best position for speakers e.g. which way should they be facing, facing back towards vocals or drums?

    Any input appreciated!!

    Cheers

General rule is to keep the mics behind the speakers. In your case you would be better to point the speakers back towards you so you were facing them as you sing. That would give you the most rejection. But to be honest, you could go the other way also and probably achieve little or no feedback if its eq'ed well. Is there a graphic eq on the mixer?
If so you should be able to notch out the main offenders with this and then minor tweak with the channel eq.

in rehersals i find it good to use the speakers like monitors one on a chair next to the drummer and one on the floor facing up towards the main vocalist.

we got the best results by setting up and rehearsing as it if was a stage. Theres no crowed to play to in rehearsals, so the PA was used like stage monitors, with the mic stands inbetween the speakers pointing at us as we rehearsed. the mics would not feedback
