Am taking my car to france on wednesday. However over the last week I have noticed a rubbing/ gringing noise when driving. Think its from the front drivers side wheel. Its a 2010 golf and wonder if there could be a stone stuck or something. Have taken the wheel off but could see nothing but I know next to nothing about cars

Would be grateful to hear any advice

    Thanks

Sounds like there could be a stone chip or similar stuck between the brake pad and the disc - have a look before it scores the disc. Remember to check the inboard pad too! ;)

Otherwise could be a wheel bearing but would be unlikely on a 2010 car....

Does not seem to happen when I brake more when I turn left. Does that make any difference to what you think it is

could it possibly be a wheel bearing?? if so then id advise to get it checked out, i had a similar noise on my car and was told by the mechanic that if i drove on it much longer there could have been a chance of the wheel actually coming off.

thats the last thing you need if you're in a foreign country

I may be over cautious here seeing as its a 2010 car but better safe than sorry

Its means you need a dictionary, which is a book of words and the like.

I'd like to see you find that 'word' in any dictionary! I know the poster meant 'pedanticism', which is not a word either. The word is 'pedantry'. Look it up in one of those books of words....

FFS, my post was a joke anyway. :p
