'ATM raiders' in balaclavas float sparks controversy at Fleadh

A float featuring men carrying fake guns dressed as cash machine raiders wearing balaclavas at a parade at the County Fleadh has been branded "unacceptable" by one on-looker.
This week, the parade organiser, Mr. Peter Murphy, Chairman of the Botha Branch of CCE (Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann), accepted full responsibility for the controversial float's inclusion in the parade on Sunday afternoon in Derrygonnelly.
Some onlookers were horrified when the float entitled "Coming to a town near you" featured the false raiders with a jeep that was made up to represent a digger. It was one of approximately ten floats on parade on Sunday in Derrygonnelly.
The float is set against a backdrop of Border town cash machine raids. Fermanagh has not been immune. Last July, an ATM raid took place at McCabe's SuperValu in Newtownbutler.

I think this is very insensitive, it would be no different to someone dressing up as an oil slick for the New Orleans Mardi Gras.
