Deffering a repeat year?

    I have a friend who failed the college year and he is wondering is it possible to defer the repeat year till next year?

    Anyone know anything about this?

    I'm afraid this one ain't to straight forward, deferring is usually a simple process itself a signature on a form from a head of department etc.

    The problem lies with the fact your friend failed.... repeating internally is not a automatic entitlement mostly because numbers are tight enough the past few years. I have seen students only allowed repeat externally because the class was already full!!

    The best piece of advice i can offer is your friend to speak to his head of department, if he has a truly valid reason for the deferral ie job offer etc. that will help, otherwise he could get a no and have to re-apply to his year of study.......

    How many exams did he fail? can he repeat anything in the Autumn??
