Have you tried Mitchum extra dry or Linden Vos triple dry? Both promise heavy duty anti-perspirant action, although I've not got the same problem so I can't offer a recommendation.

I use Anhydrol Forte, It can be a bit stingy too, but I found it less irritating than the Driclor which gave me an awful painful rash:( Make sure you apply it to completely dry armpits which haven't been shaved within 2-3 days prior to applying it. I find it great and only need to use it every 3-4 days. It really works.

If you find Driclor etc. stings the life out of you, put talcum powder on IMMEDIATELY after you put the Driclor on. It takes a minute or two, but no more stinging!

For those out there who are really suffering from excessive underarm perspiration, if the driclor can't be used, Botox is excellent, every few months.

I stopped using driclor as well for the same reason. Mitchum is grand.
I know someone who interned for a magazine in London and they used these, they might help?

I got the Sure naturals yesterday (spray and roll on) and find them the bsst I've used to far.

Normally with the Nivea one I'd use, I'd spray it on 3-4 times a day, but with this Sure one, I haven't used it since yesterday and even though my armpits are sweaty, they're not as bad as usual.

And with his Sure one, there is NO WHITE MARKS at all! :D

    Sure Naturals FTW!

Some info about the Sure Naturals:

Btw, I got mine in Dunnes Stores, Spray on is buy one get one free and the roll on is half price iirc!

I found the sure naturals didn't work well for me:-( In fact any "normal" deodorant doesn't work especially in this weather. I find that if you have a problem with excessive sweating, nothing works but the industrial strenght ones. I used an *actual* crystal deodorant that I bought from i-herb.com, and while it wasn't as good as the anhydrol forte, it worked a lot better than the normal ones plus its 100% natural so unlikely to cause a rash:)

just seen this thread and felt I had to reply because this time yesterday, I was in the exact same boat as you!!! I'd tried driclor, anhydrol forte and persperex but nothing ever worked! The pain that went with them was definately too uch to handle for me personally. it was almost as if my arm pits had been burnt they where so red after using them!! also used mitchum but it didn't even nearly help. so yesterday i decided to do a bit of research online and found 'triple Dry' anti-persperent (sp?). Got it in boots yesterday and a little bottle of talc powder! when i was going to bed last night i put the deoderant on then applied a bit of talc to mop up any excess and the best bit? aboslutely no pain or stinging at all!! woke up this morning, had a shower, put my normal deoderant on followed by a bit of talc (had a stingy feeling because shower water was too hot) and now I'm absolutely sweat free!! it' sooo unbelieveable! I've gained so much confidence since yesterday!! Please give it a go, I'm really amazed it worked after one use! bit pricy at ~€9 but so worth it! it comes in a roll-on, spray and stick. I got the 50ml roll-on and I'm honestly delighted today! wearing lovely summer clothes with no horrible sweat patches!! :) rant over :)

Same problem! Mitchum is the best I've use but my back and neck sweat too.

I've just been wearing pretty, loose fitting blouses. There are a few around at the moment, I think they look really nice too. :)

    I find Mitchum only alright.

As for the high strength ones, Driclor burned the shit outta me too. Try Perspirex! Takes a few days to stop burning but you get used to it and it works great.

Another vote for Mitchum. I sometimes use Triple Dry on my back but I heard it's not healthy to use Triple Dry for long periods.

Driclor stopped working for me after a while. Used mitchum today and still felt very sweaty even though i was in a cool room. It makes me so self conscious besides feeling very uncomfortable.

They both should be the same (so is perspirex), they are all the same ingredients at the same concentration (though I think some perspirex have lower concentrations depending on where used). So maybe it was just how you applied it. Although one could have stronger alcohol solution which would mean it dries faster and so should sting less.

They recommend applying at night. It has alcohol in it which dries off, if you begin to sweat it will sting so you should not do it on a humid day or when sweaty (sort of catch 22 there though). No cuts, grazes or shaven skin, if I get razor rash on my face I use sudocrem to heal it quickly, so if you shave underarms put some on and do not use the driclor for a few days.

You can also use it on feet and hands. My tip to dry it faster is to apply it and brush it around when with a finger, I use my full hand as I want it on my hands too -this spreads it out so it drys faster. Then hold your arm up and fan it with a magazine or similar object to dry it off ASAP.

If you are wet I think it actually turns into sulphuric acid on your skin!

Sort of OT but I suffer from psoriasis (bad flaky skin) and am reading a book about it saying it is the result of toxins in the body. It said one patient had it really bad after using powerful antiperspirants, it seems it blocked up pores and so toxins came out in other areas of the skin as the usual "exit points" were blocked. Psoriasis is similar to eczema & dermatitis so if you notice a flare up you might want to stop. As an alternative deodorizer some people use baking soda/bread soda/bicarbonate of soda.

The more aluminium content in the deodourant / anti perspirant the better.

I just bought a Vichy deodorant - it's the second from the left on this page - and I'm finding it pretty good. It's gentle on the skin and unscented.
