    Hi All

Strange problem on my laptop, yday eve internet connection went really slow, eventually stopped so done usual rebooted routers / laptop. All came back up but internet conxn was worse, very slow.

Using a wireless setup, so i happened to check the status window when right click over the wireless icon in sys tray and could see the "sent" packets display incrementing really quickly, as if computer sending file, download not really moving.

Nothig being uploaded, or downloaded. Tried another laptop and that couldn't get internet connection either, so thought something wrong with the line. Logged into modem and speeds seemed ok. I could get maybe 1 page up but then a freeze.

When i turned wireless connection off on original pc with upload issue, the other comp worked ok so it seems that there is somethin on the other laptop constantly uploading to net and clogging the congestion.

I will try some of the programs suggested in the sticky on this page but anyone any ideas on this? I have had virus before, redirections etc but nothing like this where it seems the computer is blocking up my broadband?

    cheers

just to provide an update and hopefully someone can help

Have run the two programs suggested in the sticky, while it picked up and cleaned some issues, the computer is still sending out data by itself and have no idea what is doing it.

When i enable the wireless connection to the net and if i run wireshark, you can see the activity, coming up as lots of stand queries to all sorts of web addresses. When the computer is doing this,i cant connet to the net as i guess it's congesting my connection.

Also in the process window, i can see a process with name ending in .com which looks unusual, see screenshot attached

When i disconnect this comp from the net, i can connect ok with other comps so definitely whatever this one is doing,is congesting my connection.

Anyone any ideas what more i can do? Any help / advice appreciated as not sure where to go with this one.

    cheers

From the process window kill all processes that don't need to be running and see if its the same.
    What anti-virus/malware are you running?
Do anti-virus scans and get a malware/spyware programme on and scan everything.

using superantispyware free ed + spybot + malwarebytes, ran them all and cleaned off everything but problem still there, no infections showing up from these programs..

Tried kiilling processes to stop it but no luck

Boot the system into safe mode with networking and see if the problem continues.
Personally if this is such an issue I would format and reinstall, it does sound very like a virus or or form of spy-ware trying to sent out data you picked up somewhere.

Hi Dixy.tks for the replies, appreciated.

Not sure if reformatting be such an easy option for me - i did manage to stop it yday but cant seem to today as not sure exactly what i done.

I've run the DDS tool that it suggests in the sticky and attached the two files, hopefully someone can have a look and maybe see something in these.

    cheers

Ok here's something that jumped out at me from the logs:
Performance Platform Voguecash - Check this link
This may be of interest as well

Edit: second link added after a deeper search of the problem.
