Hi lads, a problem happens every time I get to a certain part of Metal Gear Solid 4..it is about an hour and a half into the game. After the part where one of the groups of people say "yaaaaa we did it!!!" and start celebrating..you then go up a long ladder and hop down the ledge. It then goes to the screen where it says to press start to continue, as if it is going into a cut scene.

Problem is though, when I press start, the screen goes black and goes onto Playstation Home. This is absolutely driving me nuts, and I think it could be a problem with the Playstation. I originally bought the game second hand in Xtra Vision in Clonmel. After experiencing this problem with the game I thought surely it was a problem with the disc as I bought it second hand I brought it back into Clonmel to try and get it changed for a different MGS 4 disc.

Alas, I have attempted to pass this scene again and the exact same fecking problem is happening Now this could be for 2 reasons:
    1) There is a problem with my Playstation
    2) Xtra Vision were being sneaky and just went into the back room and came back with the exact same disc.

I am kinda leaning towards Number 2.

    My playstation is 250BG Slim.
I have never experienced any similar problem, or any problem at all for that matter with my Playstation.
If Xtra Vision actually had the cheek to give me back the exact same fecking disc it is ridiculously bad form on their part.

All replies welcome as to what might be that problem, and what to do.

    Thanks:)

    Please ignore lookingfor?'s reply :)

I want serious answers thanks :D

how badly does the game disk look does it have bad scratchs on it ?

you can do the old touth paste thing on it by getting a small bit of touthpaste and rubbing the disc over and over on to you dont see any more scratchs on it

i have never had anything wrong with my ps3 250gb silm and extravison do not sell 2nd hand ps3s ever

the only thing orther thing you can do it by a 2nd hand copy in gamestop and swaps the disks and get your money back in gamestop

and why do you say you have a 250gb ps3 when you told me you have a 60gb then 120gb silm ?

Don't know what's up with the two of you guys, but let's try and keep it friendly here! Have removed real-life names anyway.

    Toothpaste.

EDIT: I was suggesting the proper spelling of "Toothpaste" not the practice of putting dental products on your discs.

Dunno about the toothpaste but Game provide a service where they will remove the scratches for a fiver.

Toothpaste fills in tiny cracks, and is also very gently abrasive. Very good a lot of things, like light scratches on watch faces, chrome iPod backs etc.
