The Earl of Happy land gave a gift of 7 Grey Squirrels to his niece as a wedding gift in 1911 in Ireland-- and they escaped the very same day into the Irish countryside......:D Classic aristocrats...

    Gave me a giggle

Sika from powerscout,- Breeding reds out of existence in the Wicklow area! But great numbers around for hunters! They made it from Ireland to Scotland as well. And they didn't build any boats themselfs:rolleyes:

Reds back from England-- for restocking. Except the Kingdoms herd!

He said something about the rabbits coming here in 1200's with vikings and one deer species being brought in by Normans!

Pity he never mentioned the arrival of the Muntjac : cause -Celtic tiger hunters or wildlife lovers with with big plans! Who knows but it's arrival in history will simply be down to the Celtic Tiger Irish..

I should also included the wild boar if i'm being honest
