    Hi All,

This is my first post to boards.ie, and i was wondering if some of you would be able to help me.

If you have a four week notice period and leave it after two weeks what can you current employer do leagally? Ive signed a contract, and been there 2 and half years.

I have secured a new role and want to start ASAP.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

    Cheers,
    Lynsey.

Technically you would be in breach of contract, but they would be unlikely to bring you to court. It's very unprofessional behaviour though. Most employers should expect that a new recruit will have a 4 week notice period to serve before they can start.
