Through e-bookers I booked flights to budapest from Dublin for this years World triathlon championships in September. When we went to book the bike boxes on we were told by Malev Hungarian Airlines that there was no space on the return flight for the boxes. Even if we can find a flight another day that possibly has space, e-bookers will charge €95 per person to change flight details. You cannot get refund if you cancel the flight either and try to get an Aer Lingus flight or alternative. Does anybody know of a cost effective way of getting a bike box abroad and back if you cannot bring it on the flight with you. Cheers, Colin

Have you looked into the price of a courier? Dunno how much this works out but it could end up cheaper? I know alot of people who do this bring suitcases back from holidays as a cheaper alternative to paying extra baggage fees
