went to run a few mags through the stubby, only to find it misfiring,or firing every second or third shot, then fires two or three bb's together.hop up is fine and is on....i opened it up to have a look and there seems to be a hole at the side of the nozzle....would this be the cause of the problems?? and if so where is the handiest place to get the part...cheers!

Do you have the hop up turn on all the way? If you do dial it all the way down and see what happens.

Turn off the hopup and see how it works then, while ya have the barrel out, try dropping a bb through it from the hopup end. The rubber lip of the hop should hold back the bb and prevent it from actually entering the barrel. The airnozzle's job is to push it through and fire a burst of air behind it so it shouldn't be able to fall through itself.

Looks like your stubby has been downgraded by drilling the air nozzle
Both Mid West Airsoft and South East Airsoft stock replacement nozzles

remember if your going to replace the nozzle, you will also need to change the spring at the same time to downgrade the aeg correctly

it was bought from a reputable irish dealer and was under the 1 joule when i bought it...so i'll only need the nozzle,it's not drilled but looks like a piece broke out of the side of it...but cheers for heads up :)

it is under the joule due to the hole i would say :)

if you replace the nozzle you will more than likely see the fps increase, just wanted to bring it up so you can have a chrono and spring handy

Is this the drilled air nozzle that some retailers do to downgrade aegs ?

Yes that how some do it. others drill the cylinder (gobsh1tes)
Most do it properly by replacing the spring

Didn't notice there was a photo first time around, looks like it was intended as a downgrade alright, does the nozzle still move freely?
If you fire it for a sec so the nozzle will come fully forward. You should be able to press it in and it should spring back out quite easily.

Was it down on power prior to going wrong? What bbs were you using in it? Also, you mention the hopup has little effect, there should be a big difference when you look down the barrel between fully on and fully off. This might also be part of the problem

should have explained more carefully at the start...it was chronoing at 301 to 310fps before the problems started...so it looks like this hole is only after happening recently...the hop is working perfect (you can see the difference between on and off when i look down the barrel),and im using excel bb's that i always use ...anyway i'll try replacing the nozzle and see if thats the cause..thanks for all the replies :)
