I registered with the Official 2012 Olympics site. However it seems that tickets for non-UK residents will be dispersed by relevant national governing bodies.

That registration site didn't really seem to offer any advantage from what I understood about it, just that they collect a bunch of email addresses and then email you when the tickets are due to go on sale. It's not like it will be a secret though, and the registering didn't claim to give you any extra special access to the ticket buying process.

Try the link here (Click). As robin says, it looks like you have to register your email.

Whatever the allocation system you can be assured that the prime tickets won't go to the ordinary man/woman in the street. That will include most of the evening sessions within the various stadia and arenas - and of course the front row of the women's beach volleyball throughout :)

The daytime timetable, heats etc will be far more accessible and cheaper.

I'd guess your chances would improve if you were to be a member of a NGB who may have a ticket allocation, as meathcountysec suggests. Or if you just want to watch the rowing, dressage etc :P
