    Hi Everyone,

Myself and my boyfriend are thinking of going to Santorini in Greece for a weeks holiday in August and I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on where the best places are to stay and who does flights there.

I've done some searches on flights and they all seem very expensive (we're looking for something budget friendly) and I've spotted lots of gorgeous accommodation but have no idea of which area's are the best to stay.

Anyone got any idea's or experiences that might help me?

    Thanks a mil!

    :)

That's exactly what me and my boyfriend want to do... looks gorgeous but a bit expensive?? I also wanted to go somewhere for 2 weeks but a week there would be perfect!!

Also... apparently Fira is supposed to be the best area to visit..

Yea, looks like Fira is the hotspot from what I've seen.

I was wondering maybe it might be cheaper to fly to Athens and boat it across but think the boat trip is very long, not sure.

hey there. Im doing the same thing this summer too!!

From my research the best areas to stay for the best views- fira, oia & firostefani.
This means you get that amazing sunset view as you are on the caldera (cliff area)

If you want to stay near a beach- kamari, perissa.

Bring crocs or something similar. all the beaches are black and rocky and very very very hot. Rent a quadbike, great way to see the island - remember to bring a driving license. beautifull island.

I stayed in karterados a few times,a village about 3 k outside of fira. It's cheaper than fira and better really cause it's beside a beach,it also has a supermarket and moped rental etc.
I would advice a place with a pool and don't be afraid to try haggle and get them to pick you up/drop you off to the airport.
The outdoor cinema is worth going to and mopeds are essential.
