Need to recieve Welfare before Medical Card?

    Exactly as the title says.

    I need to apply for a medical card but am on week 9 of waiting for JSB.
    Do I need to recieve payment before appyling? As the form does ask what income you are recieving.

    Yes I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago and I was told my medical card claim could not be claimed until I was receiving some sort of payment. The woman advised me to go to the community welfare officer to begin receiving payments even though my JA claim was nearly processed
