Kitchen Worktops

I am currently looking into Kitchen worktops and I was wondering what the various types were? Or more importantly what people would recommend, obviously there is Granite, Quartz, Wood, Laminate.

Is there any other alternative (can't think of the name for the man made granite.)

What do people recommend for counter tops? Granite stretches my budget by around €500, which isn't too bad but would like to look at other alternatives

    Cheers

    Corian or LG Hi-Macs

Both essentially identical, you can be quoted by free. And should come under the price of granite slightly.

There is also glass worktop and concrete worktops which both look fabulous and wear very well.

LG Hi-Macs and Corian are known as solid surface worktops. There is also timber worktops with a good selection of colours but remember they need to be looked after with oil every 3 months or so.

Maybe granite would be your best bet. The supplier might meet you half way on the price so it would only be €250 over budget. Granite is an excellent worktop.
