    lads

    this question has my stumped...

    (stupid on line forms!!).

what can I put in here to make them read the next question and not make me a dumb ass...

I was thinking of organising a hiking outing, a wedding, anything...

cant think of any related work (engineering) as I am a graduate, not a guy with experience, and any experience I have had didn't involve leading a group.

    any ideas folk?

    ta!

Was there a time when you had to do project or assignment as part of a team? Did you ever take the lead on such projects?

A hiking outing would probably be a good one, what they are looking for is your ability to lead and motivate others so talk about how you got everyone on board

I'd have to say the better answers I've got from Grads on this has been about group project work..
Lots of projects have 4-6 students working towards projects and they often remain in these groups for a number of projects giving each member a chance to lead...

I've no doubt that some of the answers spun to us were fabricated but as long as you can hold the story together under some questioning you would be fine...

all my projects have been done by my self sadly,

I have used this, mostly bs btw..! (but not all..:D)

When I was travelling in Australia, I organised for our group to go to a national park in Australia. This involved getting a hire car (and dropping off in one piece 2 days later!), arranging meeting points and buying park passes.

My group all had various ideas on where to go but no one was taking responsibility for actually getting there and when we did get to our park no one realised passes were needed for different areas of the park and they were also not aware of the closing time.

I took it on board to get a car hired and arrange for our group to complete our hike in a designated time span, and also to get back in our hire car before the park closes. It is easy to get carried away while out having fun and sometimes you can get lost or disoriented. We had no mobile phones back then also which made things a bit more difficult.

It was challenging for me to get the attention of others, as everyone has ideas and their own plans but we all needed to chip in with help and ensure that we all enjoyed ourselves without getting too carried away. Tempers can become frayed when you are with a group, whether it's someone not keeping up with your group or someone taking too long with pictures, but it's important to keep a cool head and continue to make progress.
