Ok so what I done was I got the ios 4 gm from a torrent site.
Tried to install it using the latest iTunes.
I got an error. Possibly "this firmware file is not compatible"

Plugged out iPhone and now it is totally unresponsive.
No connect to iTunes. Even when I connect to it to iTunes. Nothing.

I reckon I will have to send it back to Apple. My warranty ends the 18 July.
    My question is.

Should I tell the truth about the steps I took?
Or should I wait till io4 is officially released and the ring Apple up and tell them it happened after trying to Install it then?

I would appreciate any other suggestions. I have tried everything I could think of and a few more things to get it on. But to no avail.

    Thanks

You might not be totally flecked yet

Are you able to get a white apple to appear?

If so I would say that your phone is fixable.

If ur anyway tech minded see here http://www.ihackintosh.com/2010/04/downgrade-iphone-3g-os-4-0-to-3-1-3-or-lower/

To ge the iPhone recognized again see here http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034
It may take a few tries but should work!

If not just wait till apple release 4.0 to the public and restore. Your phone will be fine then!

I had tried this before. But done it again following your link instructions. Still nothing.
Bit more info. The device is off. It had over 50% charge in it.I have never Jailbroken it.

Yeh I do live in Dublin.

I think I am going to send it back to Apple. I am still under guarantee.
I will tell them I tryed to install the iOs 4 gm.

The thing is if your registered to a developer, which I am. Bought one of ebay;) What is the proper way to get the files of developers? I got it before of a fileshare site.
