    Hey all,
Does anyone know if Mizuno are due to replace their MP52 & MX200 irons anytime soon ? I know they usually let irons run for two years and then replace them and both of these will be two years old in August.

Thinking of getting a set of one or the other but might wait to see the new stuff if its only a month or two away.

    Thanks

You could be right. They usually bring out their new stuff around august/sept time. I recently bought a set of MP52s. My previous irons were MX23s and I've no regrets about the change. The 52s are cleverly disguised gi irons imo and there's very little difference in forgiveness between the 2 sets. There's more feedback on mis-hits but not much loss of distance. I find the 3 & 4 irons easier to hit than my old clubs. Had thought about maybe getting a 21* rescue but more than happy to keep the 3i in the bag now. No doubt their successors will perform just as well.

Thanks for that, interesting to hear the forgiveness is similar between the two. I'm currently playing the MP60 but looking to get maybe a little bit more forgiveness/ease of use. Had a look at the MX200 tonight in McGuirks and, by God, they're big ! Might just go for the 52s, they look just the ticket.

Hey OP tbh I wouldnt be that concerned whether Mizuno bring out new clubs and whether you have the most up to date set because lets be honest any iron with the mizuno name(forged) on it is going to be truly amazing - so you should have peace of mind knowing that any set of Mizuno you have is at the worst in tied first place with any other iron :)

Oh yeah and are the 52s really that similar to the mx23s? Since I used to play the mx20s (since I found the 23s to be too big) but never liked the 60s due to too much added weight in the sole (just a personal flaw with my own golf swing lol :p)

Similar in terms of forgiveness imo. The design is also similar with the longer irons having a pocket cavity. They obviously have a smaller profile and for that reason they are marketed as a "player's" club.

Where is the best place to go in Dublin to thrash some 52s at a testing centre? Only new to Ireland :)

You should be able to demo them in this place. They have a McGuirks store on site.
