    Hi Guys & Gals

I was wondering has anyone ever gone to makeup classes, like just personal ones, to see what makeup suits you, how to apply etc.

Was thinking of doing one in the Makeup Academy in Dublin, it's quite a good prices and they go through everything with you.

My problem is going to buy foundation, there are too many selections etc.

    Anyone had any experiences?

    Thanks
    RG x

    Hi RG,

I'm a makeup artist and I've done a few courses, one with LA and a few with an artist called Zoe Clark. The one I did with LA was an 8 week course so I'm not sure how good their intro or 'one on one' courses are but they are very good and always helpful. I did a 'one on one' with Zoe and I did her bridal course and I love her and her way of working. Her website is www.zoeclark.com and deffo worth looking into. I liked her because she doesn't work for any particular brand so she'll be honest with what suits you and won't try to sell you anything like they do on the makeup counters. LA are the same, they won't try and push anything on you. Check out both their facebook pages also for samples of their work and you can see comments from people who have done their courses.

Foundation is probably every woman's biggest problem because there are so many and bar buying them all (which I have bought a lot in my search for the perfect one) it's so hard to find one that suits. I would suggest buying some empty pots (you can get them in Boots for a couple of euro) and bring them into some of the department stores or makeup counters, try a few or ask them for any samples they have. Most of the girls I have found to be very helpful and will give you a sample or put some in your empty pots. Don't let them rail road you into buying anything until you've tried them and are sure they suit you. Apart from the bad lighting in these shops (you can't really tell the colour til you step outside), you want to see if it lasts too. Try as many as you can before you fork out money for them. Just tell them you'd like to try it before you buy.

Hope this helps you a bit...

    Hello RG,
I did a one day class at LA make up academy.I found it good as you bring your make up bag with you, they pick out what you own that suits you best. As in eyeshadows that work together and suit your eye colour etc.
After years of buying foundations that didnt suit me,I now always ask for sample to take home to try it for a few days. That way you wont be wasting your money! You might be interested in a website i love its
