CD problem with car I bought

I bought a Nissan Almera 4 weeks ago. I had test driven the car a few days before and I had gotten the engine checked out as well as the usual checks before I bought it. However the one think I didnt check was the CD Player.

The CD player on this car is different to other cars I have driven in that the radio is seperate to the CD. I had tested the radio before I bought the car and that was fine.

I got the usual 3 month guarantee with the car with a footnote saying that if I noticed anything wrong with the car within 72 hours of buying it I was to bring it back and it would be checked out and replaced as part of the warantee.

That evening I realised the CD player was not working (it was making a clicking sound) so first thing the following morning I brought the car back. One of the guys checked it out and said the CD player could'nt be fixed and so they would get a replacement one for me.

A week later I got a call to bring the car in as they had a CD player, however when they tried to fit it they realised that a specific code was needed to enter into the new CD player. I was told they would have to transfer the code from the broken CD player into the new one but that it would have to be taken to Dublin for this to happen.

That was 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting. I was going to ring them again this afternoon to see what the story was. Im just wondering what the normal waiting time should be. I would like to have the CD player installed for next week so what are my rights here? Can I demand they fix it by then or do I just have to tough it out and wait until they can do it?

    Thanks

Have they taken the whole car or just the radio?

Sounds fairly far fetched to me anyway.

Just the CD. I still have the car and can still use the Radio.
