How to transfer Itunes tracks from 1 PC to another?

I recently purchased a new pc and wish to copy over my Itunes tracks from my old pc. I tried copying the folder containing the songs but that didn't work as only a few songs transferred over for some reason. Any ideas how I can do this? My old pc is knackered and Itunes won't open so I can't save tracks to my Ipod Nano from it.

You probably don't have the iTunes folder automatically organized by iTunes. So you music is most likely spread all over your PC and not just in the iTunes folder. Bad news but you'll have to find where you have it all then put it in the same place on the new PC.

I'm pretty sure it was all in the one folder but I'll look again tonight, thanks.

Can you open a share up on the old machine, to get to the old iTunes Library from the new machine?

In that case, I would do something like the following.

On the old machine, do a Consolidate Library, so that all your media files are moved in to the library directory. File > Library > Organize Library > check "Consolidate Library" box, say OK. (You can do the same on the new machine if you like, and use the "Organise Media" option.)
Once that's done: on the new machine, in iTunes, do an Import Folder, and point at the library folder on the old machine. This will copy the files across and import them in to the library.

edit: Apple's advice is similar: here.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.
