Good Quality Web Cam

    Hi,

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good quality web cam with a large field of view or decent zoom?

There is a big event coming up and a member of the family can't make it so I'm going to try and let them watch it over skype, but I have a feeling the inbuilt camera on the laptop won't be good enough quality to make it worth while.

    Thanks

Most webcams won't have a large field of view.
But DealExtreme sell wide angle webcam lenses which fit most existing webcams, typically for security purposes.

    WebCam wide angle lens

That wide angle lens fit just fine on my webcam ( similar to this one ) My Webcam

DealExtreme typically take about 3 weeks to deliver to Ireland from Hong Kong.

Cheers, my time is only about 10 days though, so I'd say I'll be confined to one of the european sites that offer next day delivery.

Leaving out the field of view issue so, is there any particular brand/model that have a good high quality image.

The higher end Logitech models are good. It's not the latest model, but as an example the Pro 9000 is decent...

The microsoft lifecam ones aren't to bad

Not too sure about being any wider angle than your standard ones though

That looks good. I'm not overly concerned about the wide field of view, it was more a nice extra than anything. I'll have to make up my mind this evening anyways if I want to be sure of delivery for next week.

Lately items from Amazon (for me) have arrived after 2/3 days. As long as they ship direct from Amazon. Make sure to select free delivery at the checkout.
