Assuming you mean from Dublin - Busaras, it's normally gate 7 or 8 (in the far corner, to the right of the information booth). There are signs over the doors telling you which bus is using each gate and a sign over the ticket office listing all the departures and their gates so even if it changes, you'll be okay.

Cheers! Yes I meant the Dublin Bus Aras.

Has anyone by any chance taken the 13.00 the FO -friday only bus? It's goes straight to Cavan from Dublin.

I am just wondering if it allows for people who just want to go as far as Cavan. It isn't marked with a 'V' on the timetable, meaning 'These services may not carry passengers from Dublin to Virgina or Cavan' but from my experience in the past the bus drivers are pretty gruff about letting passengers who are travelling as far as Cavan on that bus even though the bus is nowhere near full.

It's just that I don't have my car with me this week and I am looking to get home quickly at around that time tomorrow.

    OP,

The 13.00 FO is operated by Mc Geehan Coaches NOT Bus Eireann. As far as I can remember it did drop people off in Cavan but I can remember. If you ring Mc Geehans on 074 9546150 they should be able to tell what the story is.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for that, I will give them a ring so. Do you know if McGeehan Coaches accept the normal CIE travel tickets that you purchase at Bus Aras?

Yes Mc Geehans do accept normal Bes Eireann tickets. A word of warning, be prepared for a very quick journey to Cavan, because if you have the same driver he'll boot it home plus he goes cross country so you avoid most of the bottle around Meath.

    Enjoy your trip!

Route 30 is a joint service between Bus Eireann and McGeehans, all valid tickets are accepted by both companies.

Regarding the 1300 FO departure ,they will give priority to passengers for Eniskillen and beyond, especially those going north of Donegal town so if there are too many for the direct service then Cavan passengers will have to use the slower one.

There are extra buses on other Friday departures and the same general procedure applies.

I can tell you this info, defo 100% true cos I travel the route every week.

McGeehan's only take passangers which are going beyond cavan to places such as Derrylin, Belturbet, Kesh, Pettigoe, Donegal Town and South West Donegal.

THEY DO NOT STOP IN CAVAN TOWN OR ENNISKILLEN!!!

This bus departs at 13.00 hours at gate number six. And you will be stopping at kiernan's filling station st roughly 3pm for a break, but does not go anywhere near cavan town!

Gate number seven has another bus which goes to Donegal, this bus takes passangers sometimes if it's quiet. It should be in Cavan town at 3.25pm.

Generally though, the inspectors in Busaras will make you wait for the cavan bus which departs at 1.30pm!

All tickets are valid on mc geehan's are they work in co with bus eireann.
