Just got a pricing from the tmb yesterday:

    Yellow Fever - 40 euro
    Tetanus - 35 euro
    Hep A *2 - (45*2) 90 euro
    Typhoid - 35 euro
    Hep B *3 - (35*3) 105 euro
    Rabies *3 - (26*3) 78 euro

    = 383 euro *2 for couple = 766 euro

+ Consultation fee for couple - 100 euro

    = 866 euro
+ Malaria tablets for 13 days (don't know price yet)

= close to 1000 euro for vaccinations!!!:eek::eek:

thats more than we paid - I'd double check that. We went to Bray but I dont know if it makes any difference. Make sure you register for the prescription payment thing in your local pharmacy and that way you can get prescriptions for the following; motilium, immodium, piriton, solpodine and malaria tablets so the max it can cost you is 100 for the 2 of you (unless it was changed at last budget)

Thanks Dave. I'm waiting on a breakdown from the local GP who said I could get a few of those shots as a 2n1 which would be cheaper.

Must look into the perscription payment.

Sorry to bump such an old thread.

My wife and I are heading to Tanzania and Zanzibar for a few weeks in Sept and I was curious was this information correct? About the prescription way of doing it through local GP?

Thread Closed. Please consult your GP re: necessary vaccinations.
