My 3gs is acting up at the moment and I'm about to throw it off the wall it's frustrating me so much. Problem is, if I send it off in hope of a replacement, will I get back a phone that I can't unlock/jailbreak?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

No. but iOS4 the new software will be out this month and there are known holes according to those in the know

They did not want to waste them on 3.1.3.

they've had had an unlock/jailbreak for 3.1.3 for sometime now, the reason they didn't release it was they didn't want to show apple how they done it so that the hole would still be there in iOS4 so that iOS4 would be jailbreakable and unlockable for 3g (s) devices.

well that's from dev team, i don't follow what geohot does.

I got a replacement 3G 4-6 weeks ago, and it couldn't be unlocked.
