Have a feeling the coil part of the car lighter as become stuck in its socket, any ideas for way of removing, warying of using anything metal incase of shock

Is it even possible it could have become wielded in place from the heat of the coil.

Take out the fuse first. Can you not pull it out with your hand or a pliers?

Pop it out of its housing, usually pretty simple, only screwed in place behind, and replace the actual lighter part, thats usually the part that goes after a good bit of use.

As the above poster said pull the fuse, there won't be power to it that way, I would do it just in case it is constantly being heated in there.

Pretty simple to replace and cheap enough, just figure out how to get at it and pull the whole unit out, you could pick up a replacment here
