Can't Confirm Ebay Account

I'm having some trouble confirming an account on ebay. Everything is fine until I get to the part where you have to submit a phone number. I've submitted the correct number, but all I get is - "We were not able to verify the phone number you provided. Please try again." The phone number is not connected to any other…

It's not a mobile number. I can't see why it won't work.

Has anyone else had this problem when signing up? Any suggestions on how I can get this to work?

Basically it suggests using the full INTERNATIONAL dialing code.

So 012 345678 needs to be 0035312345678.
